NEW EQUIPMENT
MOTION TRACKERS GENERAL EQUIPMENT - 5 POINTS Motion Trackers may be purchased by Squad Leaders only. Motion Trackers are small, hand-held units which detect the movement of enemy personnel, reporting the information to the screen in the form of a blip. This device is expensive to produce and difficult to interpret, however, and so is only issued to squad leaders. Any model equipped with Motion Trackers may Spot hidden enemy models within
24". To do so, he must use a Wait action to interrupt that hidden model's
movement. Motion Trackers may only be used against moving hidden models
within 24" and so must be used with a Wait action. The Spot is successful
on a LD check with a +4 bonus. The Spotting model need not have LOS to the
hidden model to Spot it in this way.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT - 1 POINT PER MODEL Troops are often issued simple knives to supplement their normal armament. A survival knife has numerous advantages over firearms; it is silent, personal, will not exhaust its ammunition and has numerous non-combat applications. Any model may be given a Survival Knife. A Survival Knife requires one
hand to use.
MACHETE GENERAL EQUIPMENT - 5 POINTS PER MODEL A Machete is a long metal implement similar to a very long knife, designed to be held in one hand and lacking a hilt. Machetes are extremely useful for moving through dense foliage and make handy weapons, should it come down to that. However, they are not commonly issued to squads under ordinary circumstances, and so may be difficult to acquire in bulk. Machetes may only be purchased for models in squads. Individuals may not have them. Models armed with Machetes may move as if they had the Jungle Training special ability.
Models may never utilize this ability while Hidden.
FLARES GENERAL EQUIPMENT - 1 POINT PER MODEL Flares are thin cylinders which burn chemically with extreme brightness. Flares illuminate an area equal in size to the Grenade Template for the
remainder of the turn, which comes in handy if you're playing at night (hint, hint).
Flares can also be used to startle animals; any animals, such as Dog Soldier
hounds or Templar Cleansers, must pass a panic check if a Flare goes off
within 2" of them. Flares can be thrown as grenades and like grenades,
you are assumed to have an unlimited supply.
